GSI Disability Insurance for Rutgers Health
Rutgers residents and fellows can obtain individual disability insurance with no medical questions or exams, regardless of health history.
What is GSI Disability Insurance?
Guaranteed Standard Issue (GSI) is an individual disability insurance policy that doesn’t require medical exams or a review of your health history. Available only to residents and fellows at select institutions nationwide, it’s one of the most sought-after policies for trainees, providing essential income protection for your career.
If you meet the program's eligibility requirements, coverage is guaranteed, even if you have pre-existing medical conditions that could otherwise limit or prevent approval with traditional disability insurance.
Who Qualifies for the GSI?
GSI disability insurance for Rutgers Health is available to medical residents and fellows up to 90 days after the last day of training.
To qualify, you must have not received any modified offers or declines from an insurance company, other than Guardian.
Who Offers the GSI Disability Insurance for Rutgers?
The Guaranteed Standard Issue (GSI) program for Rutgers trainees is offered by The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America.
How Do I Get Started With GSI?
Please feel free to submit the GSI quote request form on the top of this page. Once we receive your request, we'll prepare a few quotes and explain the GSI benefits over a phone call.
